The RAS VI solution serves to connect partner company employees to the Volkswagen intranet at Wolfsburg. The connection is made via an internet connection of the partner company.

Employees of the partner company work with partner-owned hardware which is connected to a virtual Volkswagen i.do Client. Data exchange between the virtual and the local physical client is not possible. The solution provides access only to data classified as “internal”. Accessing confidential information is only allowed by fulfilling additional requirements. For example the partner company location must be fulfilling the requirements of the information classification “confidential” and pass a corresponding assessment.  

Every user needs Volkswagen PKI or Volkswagen SecurID for strong authentication at the gateway and for using the virtual i.do Clients. Authentication depends on type of virtual clients (citrix or VMware).
